The puppies develop nicely, is it any wonder as they have lots of milk, living in abundance. Lava is a loevyl and caring mom, however very relaxed, too.

Our puppies were born!
I already had a feeling that this would be a smaller litter, which we found quite nice and relaxed. Unfortunately, after Lava had been carrying for a bit longer, complications began to arise during the birth. After two amniotic sacs burst without any puppies following, and with contractions slowing down, we headed to the veterinary clinic again. After taking X-rays and monitoring the puppies’ heartbeats, the team decided to perform a C-section.
Three of our four puppies were in one uterine horn, already with quite substantial weights, and in the other horn was a male pup weighing well over 500g, which apparently caused a blockage. Fortunately, Mama Lava and all four puppies came through it very well — all four are lively and healthy.
However, Lava, our healthy, cheerful, and in every way uncomplicated girl, is now retired from breeding. After 25 years of breeding, the X-litter was our first C-section — and now we've had a second one right after. That’s something to digest, too — but the most important thing is that mother and puppies are doing well.
We are now very excited to watch this little four-leaf clover develop and are happy that we already have some lovely and friendly offspring from Lava from the X-litter, whose progress we also look forward to. And let’s see how this litter — still a very special one for me — continues to grow.
We have three boys (two liver spotted, one of them with a patch, and a black spotted patched boy) as well as a black spotted girl, born May 19th.
